The Beijing University Student Film Festival is a national film festival approved by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Government, supported by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, hosted by Beijing Normal University, and undertaken by the School of Arts and Media of Beijing Normal University. The 25th Beijing University Student Film Festival began to plan and apply from October 2017. In December, it began to recruit student staff and volunteers, set up the executive department of the Organizing Committee of the 25th Beijing University Student Film Festival, and launched various preparations such as film solicitation and publicity. The main event is planned to open on April 14, 2018 and close on May 6, 2018. During the period, in addition to the awards and opening and closing ceremonies for domestic films (including co productions), various academic activities were also held, such as the exhibition of shortlisted films in the main venue, activities in more than 20 sub venues, college students' original film competition, youth script and creativity competition, "Selection of Excellent Films in the Forty Years of Reform and Opening up" and a series of academic seminars.
