In the evening, I saw an experiment on the weight of links transferred by different web pages, which roughly translated: probably last summer, I observed a very obvious phenomenon, that is, the purchase/placement/establishment of links in the content that has been captured and included by search engines has played little role in ranking growth.
Many newspapers and other publishers offer links placed in old articles at ridiculous prices, but the fact is that they have no effect at all.
About the end of last year, I did an experiment. Although it has been some time, in my opinion, this result is still applicable to the current environment.
Experiment description:
In a simple experiment, three different forms of links were created for three different niche websites:
1. a In the content of "New"
2. b In the "included" content
3. c Text Links
New Content
It mainly uses article marketing to create some new articles, and uses target keywords as anchor text in the articles to point to the experimental website.
Contents included
Anchor text links have been added to the content of web pages that have been included. Some web pages already have PR values (about half of the links have PR values of 1).
Text Links
15 blogs were randomly selected from the self built blog group, and links were added to the sidebar. The anchor text still uses the target keyword.
limitations
We can all find that this experiment has serious limitations, so the results can not be completely used as a basis, but the changes in rankings can prove that the link building of content that has been captured and included lacks weight.
experimental result
It is clear from the figure that the links placed in the old content will not have any weight, otherwise the ranking results will not only move slightly, or even fall back a little later.
In addition, the links in the blog sidebar played a huge role in promoting the ranking at the beginning, but soon fell back (the sidebar links were used as the form of whole site links. In addition, the author explained later that since the experiment was last year, the whole site links will no longer have such effect).
conclusion
Because these websites target different keywords, and article marketing fails to accurately grasp the number of links, it is not pertinent to compare these different link building models together in the experiment.
However, the result that links are not effective in old content also fits my experience. In addition, it is worth noting that the effectiveness of the whole site link has been greatly weakened by Google.
What I mentioned is not scientific. I hope to hear the opposite experience and results.
