A reasonable site structure can speed up the Website design , improve work efficiency and save your time. In order to save time, some people often store all the files in their home page in one file center, so that when there are many files. They are often confused by the files that have been made before and can no longer remember their contents. When the site becomes larger and larger, the management will become a mess. Therefore, in general, hierarchical folders should be used to manage documents. When planning the site structure, you can follow the following rules.
1、 Save documents in a hierarchical folder
In general, folders should be used to properly structure documents. First, create a folder (root directory) for the site, and then create multiple hierarchical subfolders in it. Then, store the documents in different categories into corresponding folders. If necessary, create multi-level subfolders.
2、 Use a reasonable file name
It is very important to use reasonable file names, especially when the size of the website becomes large. The file name should be easy to understand, so that people can know the content of the web page after reading it, and it is also very convenient for the web page producers to maintain and modify the web page. Although Chinese file names are clearer and easier for Chinese people to understand, Chinese file names should be avoided because many Internet servers use English operating systems and cannot provide good support for Chinese file names; Users browsing the website may also use the English operating system, and Chinese file names may also cause browsing errors or access failures. Therefore, the author suggests that users should not use Chinese when using Dreamweaver to create web pages, because Dteamweaver 4.0 is only an English version of software. In the author's experience in creating web pages, Dreamweaver is not very good at understanding and linking Chinese file names, and unexpected link failures often occur. I believe that this is also one of the few places where Dreamweaver is inferior to FrontPage. The reason is very simple. Microsoft's FrontPage98, 2000 Chinese version software is better than the English version of Dreamweaver in Chinese character recognition. In short, it is strongly recommended that you use English file names. If you are really unfamiliar with English, you can use Chinese Pinyin as the spelling of the file name.
Many Internet servers use the Unix operating system, which is case sensitive. For example, Index.html and index.html are completely different files, and can appear in the same folder at the same time. Therefore, it is recommended that you use lowercase file names in the built site.
3、 Reasonably configure resources in documents
The document contains not only text, but also other objects of any type, such as images, sounds, animations, videos, etc. These document resources cannot be directly stored in HTML documents, so their storage locations need to be carefully considered. In general, you can create a Resource folder in the site, and then save the corresponding resources in this folder. There are two ways to store resources. One is that the entire site shares a Resource folder, where all document resources are saved. There can be subfolders in the Resource folder. Store resources by category according to different documents or resource types; Another way to store resources is to create a Resource folder in each folder where different types of documents are stored, and then store resources by type.
