Brightness, hue and purity are the three basic elements of color, and they are also the factors that people perceive color normallyWebsite Design3 important factors. The color system has the changes of hue, lightness and purity, which form the colorful colors that people see.The hue, purity and lightness of colors are inseparable, and these three factors must be taken into account simultaneously when applying.
1. Lightness
The brightness indicates the brightness of the color. The greater the brightness, the brighter the color. For example, some shopping and children's websites use some bright colors, which makes people feel colorful and energetic. The lower the brightness is, the darker the color is. It is mainly used for some game websites.Full of mystery: In order to reflect their own personality, some individual webmasters can also use some dark colors to express some of their lonely, melancholy and other personalities. The following two figures on the left show the brightness change of the color.
High lightness means the color is brighter, while low lightness means the color is darker. The color without brightness relationship will appear pale and powerless. Only by adding the change of light and shade, can we show the visual impact and rich sense of hierarchy of color, as shown in the right figure below.
The lightness of color includes lightness without color and lightness with color. In the absence of color, white has the highest lightness and black has the lowest lightness. Between white and swallow, there is a gray series from light to dark. In the presence of color, any pure color has its own lightness characteristics, such as yellow has the highest lightness and purple has the lowest lightness.
2. Hue
Hue refers to the name of color, which refers to the different color feelings of light of different wavelengths.Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple all represent a specific hue respectively, and the difference between them belongs to hue difference. It is the most basic feature of color and the main factor that distinguishes one color from another. The initial basic colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.Add a middle color in the middle of each color, and its head and tail color phases, according to the spectral order, are: red, orange red, yellow orange, yellow green, green, green blue, blue green, blue, blue purple, purple, red purple, twelve basic color phases. The following left figure shows the twelve basic colors.
For example, the color phase dominated by green may change from pink green, grass green, medium green, etc. Although they are mixed with white and gray in the green phase, resulting in slight differences in brightness and purity, they still maintain the basic characteristics of the green phase. The following figure on the right shows the different differences of green hue. 3. Purity
Purity usually refers to the brightness of a color, indicating whether a color contains white or black components. If a color does not contain white or black components, it is a pure color, and its purity is the highest: if more white or black components are contained, its purity will gradually decline, as shown in the following figure. Purity reflects the inherent character of color.Different colors not only differ in brightness, but also in purity. The same hue, even if the purity has a slight change, will immediately bring color changes. With the change of purity, the world has such rich colors. As shown in the left figure below, the pictures with high purity appear very lively, as shown in the right figure below, while the pictures with low purity appear dim and dim.
