In the Internet, the IP protocol has a very important provision: that is, anyone who connects to the InternetWebsite productionEach computer and network device of must have a unique identification in the world, that is, "IP address".With this unique identifier, any computer system can be efficiently and quickly found from thousands of computers. What is the IP address? What kind of information does it contain?
IP address is a logical address, also known as a virtual address. It is managed by ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), which is responsible for the distribution of global Internet names and digital addresses.According to the regulations of ICANN, ICANN assigns some IP addresses to the regional Internet Registry (RIR), and these RIRs are responsible for the registration services in the region.
At present, there are five RIRs in the world: ARIN, RIPE, LACNIC, AfriNIC, APNIC,
(1) ARIN is mainly responsible for business in North America (2) RIPEN is mainly responsible for business in Europe. (3) LACNIC is mainly responsible for Latin America business (4) AfriNIC is mainly responsible for the distribution in Africa. (5) APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Center) is mainly responsible for the IP address allocation of countries in Asia and the Pacific.
In the Asia Pacific region, RIRs can also set up some IR, such as national IR (NIR) and regional IR (LIR), as shown in Figure 4-18. These IR can get Internet address resources from APNIC and then allocate them to their subordinates.APNIC uses the membership system to assign IP addresses directly to its members. As a national NIC, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) became an alliance member of APNIC in January 1997. It is the highest level IP address allocation organization in China.
