In this study, Shareaholic gathered data from more than 200000 publishers with 260 million monthly independent visitors. Just six months ago, Pinterest only had 0.17% of the recommended traffic. Now, its recommendation traffic has exceeded the total of Google+, MySpace, Reddit, YouTube and linkedIn, which is a great achievement for a website that only accepts invited users to visit. In fact, its recommendation traffic has been on a par with that of Twitter and Google, which accounted for 3.61% and 3.62% respectively. The largest traffic driver is still Facebook, which accounts for 26.4% of recommended traffic; Followed by social web recommendation engine StumbleUpon, recommendation traffic accounted for 5.07%.

According to the statistics of Experian Hitwise, a data marketing service company, in December, the number of visitors to Pinterest was 40 times that of six months ago, which is destined to make it the "tenth largest" social networking site.
