Golden sentence of IT industry leader
Yang Haoyong, the market website:
In July (2001), I went to Silicon Valley in the United States. I wore a suit every day and drove out to find a job. It took me two or three months to find my first job. The changes in the IT industry in the United States are the same as those in the first and second half of last year (2011).
Chen Hu, Vice President of Letao:
Winter means opportunity, and many excellent talents are released from the talent market.
Due to the economic downturn and rising labor costs, high-tech enterprises that used to be "big employers" have recently shouted the slogan of "no employees this year". This is in sharp contrast to the busy phenomenon of "colleges and universities robbing people" and "salary increase and retention" in the first half of last year. However, a small number of companies are still hiring against the trend, but there are only a few jobs.
In terms of salary, high-tech industries increased salaries by 10%~25% last year, and are expected to increase by 10% this year.

Change of wind direction
Last year's crazy move This year's no move
Recently, Xiao He, who majored in e-commerce at Wuhan University, is looking for a job everywhere. Since the end of last year, he has sent resumes to some well-known Internet enterprises in China, but most of them have no reply. He said that in the first half of last year, major websites came to the campus to "grab people", and job fairs of IT companies came one after another.
Yesterday, the reporter saw in the Guangzhou Southern Talent Market that there were already a large number of people here. Although there are some IT posts such as "network technicians", most of them are traditional posts such as waiters and delivery clerks. Most of them are unknown start-ups, and few large IT companies have released recruitment posts.
In the past, high-tech enterprises such as the Internet have always been "big employers". The statistics of 51job, a recruitment website, pointed out that in 2011, the number of recruitment positions in the computer/communication/electronics industry ranked first in all major industries. However, this year, the financial crisis has led to the continued depression of the global economic environment, which has led many enterprises to lower their growth expectations, and even some enterprises have recently shouted the slogan of not entering this year.
According to a source, Alibaba Group, which has always been crazy about attracting talents, has slowed down this year. Jack Ma, CEO of Alibaba Group, claimed internally that "only employees will go out this year, but not enter". NetEase recruited 800 fresh graduates from colleges and universities across the country last year. Tencent recruited 2000 college talents worldwide last year, but it has not disclosed its recruitment plan this year. The industry predicts that the number of recruiters will shrink significantly this year. Only a few companies in the industry claim to recruit against the trend, but there are few jobs.
10%~25% salary increase last year
It is expected to increase by only 10% this year
Why did most Internet companies slow down their recruitment this year? The rising average wage of the industry is obviously an important factor. As early as last year, the IT Internet industry has experienced a rise in wages. In March, almost all employees of Sohu raised their salaries by about 10%, Tencent raised their salaries by 9.3% per capita in April, and Sina raised their salaries by about 14% in May. NetEase announced in June that 60% of its portal employees would receive a 25% salary increase. In addition, NetEase announced that it has set up a special housing purchase fund for employees to help them solve the housing problem. Tencent launched the "Secure Housing Plan" to provide employees with an interest free loan of 1 billion yuan. Alibaba claims to provide employees with housing loans to solve the housing problem, and also provides high amount of student aid funds to help employees solve the problem of children's difficulties in school.
Netease told our reporter that the current labor cost is on the rise. First, because of the social factors - the rising cost of living; Second, because NetEase itself has higher and higher requirements for talents, the human cost has also increased.
Jingdong Mall told our reporter that, on the whole, China's labor market is undergoing a transformation, which is basically consistent with the pace of China's industrial structure upgrading from manufacturing to service industry. The online retail industry of JD Mall belongs to the service industry. With the rapid development of the industry, the competition is becoming more and more fierce, and the demand for the quantity and quality of talents is also on the rise, which corresponds to the structural rise in labor costs.
It is expected that wage costs will still rise this year. 51job predicted in the Survey Report on Resignation and Salary Adjustment in 2012 that the average growth rate of all industries in the first half of 2012 could reach 9.8%, exceeding the forecast of GDP growth of about 8% in the next year.
Three current situations
1. Frequent job hopping
In the context of shrinking employment, frequent job hopping has also become a major "feature" of the e-commerce industry.
On the one hand, e-commerce platforms flow to traditional platforms. Traditional retail giants such as Wangfujing Department Store, Gome Appliances, and Shopin Discount are taking advantage of the fact that "money burning" e-commerce enterprises are entering the difficult winter season to recruit large numbers of people, and their operation mode is changing due to their involvement in online shopping. According to media reports, Wangfujing Department Store is recruiting the general manager of its e-commerce company online, and requires more than 5 years of senior management experience in e-commerce field. However, Yintai, the traditional retail network operation platform, is also unwilling to be outdone, and has thrown out more than 90 job demands related to websites on the Zhaopin recruitment platform.
On the other hand, the flow of e-commerce platforms is accelerated. Different from traditional industries, employees who have worked in e-commerce for more than two years have been regarded as "senior people" and are being scrambled by various websites. In 2011, Xu Lei jumped out of Jingdong Mall and became the CMO of Yougou. Wu Sheng changed from Vice President of Vancl to Senior Vice President of Jingdong. A group of well-known e-commerce executives, such as Alibaba Wei Zhe, Taobao Sun Tongyu, Dangdang COO Huang Ruo, Flying Tiger Tesco Du Jiabin, and Macaulin Pusijie, chose "Jump" in 2011.
2. The most scarce courier
In the past two years, leading e-commerce enterprises such as Jingdong Mall, Zouxu.com and Fanke have all developed at a speed of 200%~300%. Jingdong Mall and Alibaba have taken the lead in establishing their own logistics centers in many cities across the country, which will inevitably increase the demand for relevant talents. Whether professionals in e-commerce field or e-commerce related talents such as commodity procurement and express logistics, there is an urgent trend in the human resources market.
Major e-commerce companies often carry out large-scale promotional activities. The explosion of orders has led to a shortage of employees for express companies. Many express companies even offer a minimum income of 6000 yuan to recruit couriers.
3. A few enterprises recruit against the trend
Jingdong Mall said it will hire 25000 new employees this year. After the Spring Festival, Letao, China's largest online shoe city, announced an expansion of more than 100 people. Chen Hu, vice president of Letao, believes that winter means opportunity, and many excellent talents are beginning to be released from the talent market. The winter of e-commerce is not because of the reduction of user demand, but because competitive enterprises concentrate in limited areas to form oversupply and raise market costs.
Cause analysis
Capital withdrawal
Similar to the US Internet bubble 10 years ago
Industry insiders believe that the slowdown of recruitment in the IT industry is obviously affected by factors such as blocked financing and weak market. In particular, since the end of last year, the e-commerce industry, which attracts the most talents, has changed from crazy expansion to rational contraction, and some e-commerce enterprises are even shrouded in the shadow of layoffs around the Spring Festival.
As early as the end of 2010, the online game industry witnessed a wave of layoffs. In 2011, the "task" of playing the dual role of angel and devil fell to e-commerce. The low profits of e-commerce have delayed the payment of venture capital funds, which has also led many enterprises to cut jobs and even close down in order to reduce operating costs.
In fact, the virus of e-commerce bankruptcy became popular in the fourth quarter of last year. On October 24, 2011, the news that the cosmetics B2C website was about to go bankrupt due to capital failure came out, and the leisure snack B2C Ximi website also posted a notice of "Ximi Snack Closing" on its home page. Later, Pinju, which was officially launched less than three months ago, announced that it would start liquidation on January 9, 2012 and then close. In the previous month, there had been the closure of Huha.com, a luxury e-commerce website, and the closure of NetEase luxury channel "NetEase Shangpin".
Yang Haoyong recalled that the first half of 2001 was the peak of the Internet bubble in the United States. At that time, as long as he agreed to sign a contract after graduation, he was promised a high salary, an additional salary of tens of thousands of dollars in advance, the most powerful of which was up to 100000 dollars. However, in the second half of the year, all the big companies were not hiring. The changes in the IT industry in the United States are the same as those in the first and second half of last year (2011).
Situation forecast
Short term repressed future demand is still great
Although it was in the freezing period last year and this year, it is expected that e-commerce and other Internet industries will still have strong demand in the future. In the next five years, the domestic demand for e-commerce talents will reach more than 3 million.
Chen Hu, vice president of Letao, said that winter meant opportunities, and many excellent talents began to be released from the talent market. Jingdong Mall told our reporter that the phenomenon of reducing or maintaining the employment scale does not exist in Jingdong Mall.
Similarly, e-commerce giants such as Alibaba, Jingdong Mall, Amazon Excellence, Suning E-shop have come to Guangzhou to set up regional headquarters and logistics bases. According to incomplete statistics, there are 1800 e-commerce enterprises in Guangzhou, with e-commerce revenue of nearly 20 billion yuan. Guangzhou has launched or plans to launch nearly 10 e-commerce clusters, and will also attract a large number of e-commerce talents.
