Why is scrolling website page design popular?

First, lose the footer! As the content continues to load, the footer will continue to roll out from the bottom of the page. This means that no content or information will appear in the footer. Even worse, when users see the footer, they can only see it when they have a chance to click anything. Using sticky footers is one way to solve this problem, although it is usually better to delete footers completely.

It is important to use visual cues, especially when the main screen is loaded and there is more content on the page, the visual cues are not obvious. When a page is loaded, a website with a title image or visual content usually contains an arrow (sometimes an animation) or similar image to indicate that there is more content below.

Navigation should always be visible. Either sticky titles or fixed sidebars with navigation links are an exception on mobile devices. Sticky titles occupy valuable screen space. Facebook has solved this problem well. The title disappears when the user scrolls down, but reappears when they start scrolling up.  
Chrome browser does a similar operation on the controls at the bottom of the screen. They disappear when the user scrolls down, and reappear when the user starts scrolling up. This is a very intuitive way to create an interface and maximize the available screen space.

Fortunately, an important UX feature is becoming more and more common in websites with unlimited scrolling, that is, when you scroll to each part, change the URL. Some are realized through internal bookmarks within the page. Other websites, especially news websites and blogs, update the entire URL when users scroll. This is important because it allows users to link to the content they want to link to, regardless of changes to the page itself.  

Some website designers choose to create a long scrolling website that can be considered as "hybrid", with a "load more" button, which can directly load content onto the same page. Some UI designers reuse this feature on the page, while others choose to include it only once, and then change the site to a more traditional long scroll format.
